I didn't even go to Comic-Con , so I can only imagine the flood of information coming out of it is even more intense in person. But even from afar, the tidal wave of new content was overwhelming. It got to the point where I decided I was going to give the con a few days rest after it ended and then attempt to make sense of everything that came out of it.

For the past few years I've participated in a Comic Con panel called Masters of the Web; essentially it's a bunch of web writers getting up on stage and talking about what we do. And often complaining. This year the panel was put together by AMC Theaters and it featured a whole bunch of folks, and was moderated by some pretty big names - director Edgar Wright and Robert Orci, writer of Transformers and Star Trek .

The Lake Elsinore Storm knocked out 14 hits and never trailed after a five-run second inning en route to a 9-3 victory over the San Jose Giants on Sunday evening at Municipal Stadium. Cody Decker finished 3-for-5 with a double and his team-leading 17th home run of the year to lead the Storm to their second consecutive win in the series. The loss, San Jose's third in a row, dropped the Giants to 5-13 in the second half.

Los Angeles —When unknown forces suddenly and mercilessly attack the City of Angels out of nowhere, it's up to a local Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and a new platoon of unseasoned soldiers to meet the threat. As the invasion hits the streets of LA, these Marines become our first and last line of defense in an intense battle against an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before. Appearing in person are Michelle Rodriguez, Aaron Eckhart, Neal Moritz, and director Jonathan Liebesman.

Strap on your energy shield and grab your power battery, because Comic-Con has begun announcing its programming schedule for this year's mega-event, and based on Thursday's lineup, it's shaping up to be a four-color doozy. On top of the ever-expanding list of Hollywood projects looking to get a boost from the trend-making geek set: Michael Cera 's romantic superhero comedy 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,' Sylvester Stallone 's bone-crunching inside joke 'The Expendables' and the big daddy of them all, 'Tron: Legacy.' Those aren't the only big pictures in the big picture, though.
